It has been a very busy two years and finally we can get to the fun stuff and tell you how we got from there (amazing old historic building in the heart of Park City) to here (really cool chic boutique hotel unlike anything you’ve ever experienced).
Let’s start with the amazing design team of Paul and Shannon Wehsener of Paul Allen Design and architect Trip Bennett. Then we have our hand-selected collection of art and antiques from around the world (not a bad job to have). We then found some of the best in the industry to create our brilliant staff. And our private chef? None better.
Soon we opened to a season with no snow but a storm of celebrities at Sundance. And we can’t forget the requisite opening dilemmas. There was some talk about a leaking bathtub, fire alarm tripped and a visit from our trusty firefighters due to guests thoroughly enjoying their gorgeous room and clawfoot tub at a time when a respected travel journalist was in-house. But we can neither confirm nor deny such gossip.
There was also the custom-made cocktail table not yet ready for delivery and the missing piece of artwork last seen somewhere in Bulgaria. We’re also still looking for a few framed historic photos for which there are no negatives.
Okay, okay. So, we’ve had our fair share of antics, but we’ve also had more than our share of success. We knew that this was something special. And now the world does too.
It’s your turn…Welcome to Washington School House, where old school is the new cool.
