The world officially fell in love with Park City when athletes filled the town in their search for Olympic gold during the 2002 Olympic Winter Games (now known as the most successful Winter Olympics ever, by the way). But it was back in the late 1800s when the town was filled with seekers of a different source of precious metal – there was silver to be had in them thar’ mountains – creating dozens of millionaires out of the miners that came from around the globe.
Today, Park City is an incredible blend of the old and new – much like we are – and this old west town, replete with more than 60 buildings on the National Register of Historic Buildings, is not only known for its small town historical charm and amazing outdoor recreation, but also for its hip mountain-urban vibe and big-city caliber museums, galleries, spas, dining, nightlife and shopping all within walking distance of this little ol’ school house.
And you don’t have to be a religious reader of the tabloids to know about Park City’s year-round calendar of concerts, art festivals, gallery openings and activities, including those surrounding a simple community gathering we like to call the Sundance Film Festival. You may have heard of it (and the jet-loads of celebrities that attend). There’s also the Park City Food and Wine Classic, Deer Valley Music Festival, Spring Gruv at Canyons Resort, Park City Marathon, Kimball Arts Festival, summer concerts at Snow Park Amphitheater, and several world-class ski and sport competitions.
So, obviously, there’s no shortage of activities to keep you busy here. Blame Park City for all your options. And our superior location. When we say “within walking distance,” we mean it – we’re talking casual stroll here, not long-distance trek – no car, tram, shuttle or snowshoes necessary.
So, please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have questions, need us to make reservations or check hours and details. Or, simply ignore all the distractions…err – fabulous Park City activities – and sit by the fire in the lounge, or in the pool on the back terrace or in your bed with the Pratesi linens. Tough choice, we know.
